A car rental pickup in Paros starts with an agreed meeting point and a way to contact the rental company. Whether you arrive at Parikia port or Paros Airport, send your arrival details before travelling and keep the collection instructions with your booking. This guide focuses on that first handover: what to confirm, what to bring and how to respond if your arrival changes.

Before travelling: put the arrival details in one message

Include your booking reference, arrival date, ferry service or flight number, expected arrival time and a phone number you can use in Greece. Check that the date and collection location match the reservation. A ferry or airline booking does not itself confirm a rental-car handover.

Use the AMR contact page to ask for the exact meeting point and contact procedure. Save the reply so you can find it without searching through several emails after arrival.

Collecting a hire car at Parikia port

For a ferry arrival, give AMR the ferry name or service details and confirm that Parikia is your arrival port. Ask where to go after leaving the vessel, how to identify the representative and what to do if you cannot find each other. Do not assume that the car will be waiting beside the ferry ramp.

Keep your luggage together while you locate the agreed meeting point. If the ferry changes time or service, contact the rental company with the revised information and ask it to confirm the collection arrangement. A message about a delay is useful, but it is not the same as an accepted new appointment.

Collecting a rental car at Paros Airport

Send the flight number and arrival date, then confirm the meeting instructions for after baggage collection. If you have checked luggage or need a child seat, mention this before arrival so that the requested arrangements can be confirmed.

If your flight is delayed, send the updated arrival information as soon as you can and use the contact method stated in your booking. Ask for confirmation of the revised meeting time. Do not assume that flight tracking, waiting time or an out-of-hours collection is included automatically.

Check collection hours and any additional charge

AMR’s published rental terms (in Greek) list collection and return hours from 05:00 to 21:45, and office hours from 08:30 to 21:45. They state that collection or return outside office hours has an additional charge. Confirm the availability and price of your particular appointment before booking, especially for an early arrival or a changed ferry or flight.

Allow time for luggage, the meeting and the vehicle handover when planning your first journey. These steps vary with the arrival and the booking; there is no fixed collection time that fits every traveller.

Confirm the vehicle details and bring the agreed documents

Ask AMR to confirm the documents and payment arrangements required for the named driver and any additional driver. Check the applicable driving-licence and age requirements before travelling rather than trying to resolve them at the meeting point.

Use the AMR car fleet page to discuss a suitable vehicle for your passengers and luggage. If a child seat, automatic transmission or another feature matters, obtain confirmation of the requested arrangement. A preference noted in a message should not be treated as a guarantee of a particular model.

At the handover, settle the practical details
