Paros car rental for families starts with a combination, not a category name: the adults and children travelling, their suitable restraints, and the luggage that must fit around them. A car with enough seats can still be unsuitable for the bags or child-seat arrangement you need.

Work through those details before booking. Once the vehicle and seating layout are agreed, plan a daily rhythm with time to load, park, walk and take a break. The aim is a car that fits the family’s actual routine.

List everyone travelling and what will be carried on arrival day. Include suitcases, a folded pushchair, any child-seat base you are bringing and bulky equipment. Give the company dimensions for an item that is difficult to fit.

Review the AMR rental car categories, then ask about the actual combination. Check luggage space with the required seats in use. Folding a seat is not an answer when a passenger needs to sit there.

For two or more child restraints, ask how they fit with the remaining passengers. Do not assume that a wide-looking rear seat accommodates every combination of restraints and an adult.

Tell AMR each child’s height and weight and identify any seat you plan to bring. Ask which restraint can be supplied, whether it suits the child and the intended seating position, and how compatibility with the vehicle will be checked. A request is not a confirmation of equipment availability.

AMR’s published Greek terms list a child-seat charge of €4 per day. Confirm availability, the seat type and the amount included in your own reservation.

The Road Safety Authority’s child-seat guidance emphasises choosing a restraint suitable for the child’s size and the vehicle, and following both manufacturers’ instructions. Use those instructions for the approved position, installation and adjustments of the actual equipment; do not rely on a generic fitting method for every seat.

If anything about the fit is unclear at collection, resolve it before setting off. Ask for the relevant instructions and competent assistance rather than improvising. Do not assume that a seat is ready for use simply because it has been placed inside the car.

Check access to the rear seats, room for the chosen restraints and a comfortable driving position. Ask whether the front seats can be adjusted as needed with the restraints installed behind them.

A larger vehicle may be useful, but its category label does not establish boot capacity or child-seat compatibility. Equally, a small car should not be ruled out if the confirmed layout handles the real load. Compare actual dimensions and arrangements rather than assuming every crossover is the better family choice.

Choose a vehicle the driver feels comfortable using as well as one that accommodates the family. Consider the access and parking arrangements at your accommodation when deciding.

Secure luggage so it cannot move into the passenger area, and keep visibility clear. Avoid loose bags around the child restraint or objects that interfere with its installation and use.

Put the items you will need during a stop in an accessible bag. Check that doors, seat belts and the child’s restraint can be used without shifting luggage each time. Make adjustments while parked, with time to follow the equipment instructions.

Choose a small number of stops that work together. A beach and a nearby village may suit your plans better than repeatedly crossing the island, but decide around your children’s needs and the conditions on the day.

Allow time for unloading, walking and returning to the car. Plan breaks and access to shade and drinking water. Avoid making the final drive depend on everyone maintaining an ambitious timetable.

When visiting Parikia or Naoussa, check lawful parking and the final walk before setting off. A restaurant’s location does not establish where you can drive or stop. If the family needs easier access, ask the venue for directions rather than attempting a narrow lane on arrival.

At collection, confirm the fuel information, agreed return location and contact details. Check the passenger arrangement and luggage with the restraints in their intended positions before the first drive.

The AMR frequently asked questions provide general rental information. Use the AMR contact page to discuss equipment or arrival requirements before travelling, and retain the resulting confirmation.

Confirm a child seat that suits both child and vehicle
